Biographical Sketch:
2015 Present-- Adolescent Health Coordinator, California Family Health Council, Los Angeles, CA. 2014-2015- LGBTQ Health Intern, California Family Health Council, Los Angeles, CA. 2013-2015- Research Coordinator, Services for Telehealth and HIV Rapid Testing (START), Los Angeles, CA. Responsible for the development and implementation of a three year substance abuse and HIV prevention research grant on a large urban college campus. Implemented a rapid HIV testing program to reduce the rates of HIV among adolescent black and latino young MSM. Presented at the 2015 Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) Conference at California State University, Monterey on the effectiveness of technology based telehealth counseling methods for substance abuse treatment and prevention on a college campus. Certified as a Health Education Specialist (CHES) and Family Planning Health Worker (FPHW). Currently works closely with youth serving community based organizations in diverse, high risk communities located within South Los Angeles to provide technical assistance and support to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes for youth.
