Biographical Sketch:
I have over 15 years of experience working in HIV prevention, care, and support research in both international and domestic settings. I am currently the Principal Investigator of an NIMH supported study entitled “Neighborhood Factors, Sexual Risk and STIs in HIV-Infected and High-Risk Women”. This multilevel study investigates whether and how neighborhood-level characteristics influence sexual risk behavior and the probability of testing positive for a sexually transmitted infection among HIV-infected and high-risk HIV-uninfected women living in the Southern United States, with the goal of informing the development of future multilevel interventions designed to improve women’s sexual health and reduce transmission of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. Other relevant work experience includes: 2012-2016, Doctoral Student, Emory University, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Health Education, Rollins School of Public Health, Atlanta, Georgia 2006-2013, Senior Clinical Research Manager for the HIV Prevention Trials Network, FHI360, Durham, North Carolina 2003- 2006 Research Associate/Study Coordinator, Department of Infectious Disease University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill January 2001 to August 2003 Program Coordinator, International Division, John Snow, Inc., Boston, MA I am the author or coauthor of numerous presentations at professional conferences and 30 publications and book chapters primarily relating to sexual risk behaviors, HIV and other STIs.
