Biographical Sketch:
My research is focused on individual, social and environmental factors that influence infectious disease disparities among persons living in urban settings. To do this, I engage research participants and community advocates in partnerships that foster co-created solutions to address public health problems. I have extensive experience (1) designing and implementing observational studies to describe behavioral epidemiology of HIV/STI, (2) the use of mobile phone technology to monitor event-level HIV risk and drug use, and (3) structural interventions to increase access to STI screening and treatment. I have published 23 manuscripts, many of detail my experience using community-engaged HIV prevention research to reduce health disparities in urban settings.
