Integrating Viral Hepatitis into Counseling: Preliminary Results

Learning Objective:

By the end of the presentation participants wil be able to:
1. List components of the "Integrating Viral Hepatitis into Client Centered Counseling" curriculum.
2. Determine the evaluation results of the pilot trainings.
3. Discuss if the training course would be beneficial in their project area.



Background:

Overview of evaluation findings from Integtrating Viral Hepatitis into Client Centered Counseling pilot trainings.


Setting:

Public health departments, substance treatment facilities and community based organizations.


Population e.g. API Youth, MSM, IDU:

Hepatitis C Coordinators, HIV Counselors and Educators, Disease Intervention Specialists and Case Managers


Project Description:

This poster presentation will display the evaluation findings of this newly developed training curriculum.


Results/Lessons Learned:

Participants' viral hepatitis knowledge significantly increased.
Participants reported an increased comfortability discussing viral hepatitis prevention.
Participants reported the training as worthwile and something they would refer to a colleague.
Participants consider the skills application the most valuable part of training.
