KEYWORDS:
Automated feedback; Registry Statistics; Management Reports; Data Quality; Growth of the Registry.

BACKGROUND:
Immunization registry systems provide reporting capabilities for the authorized users. As information is needed, the user can "pull" the information out of the system. The capability to automatically "push" information out via e-mail or fax, can keep users and other stakeholders informed with very little human intervention.
The type of information best suited for this delivery mode, is management level, aggregate data. The district health director, or the private provider is interested in the number of patients and vaccinations that they submitted to the registry for the month; the registry administrator may want to see the breakdown across all the providers; the state health director or governor may like to see the registry totals. Registry administrators can identify and resolve unreported problems through review of non-submitting providers reports. This can also be an effective mechanism to deliver bulletins and registry newsletters.
In Idaho and other states, the recipients of these reports soon come to rely on this method of staying informed.

OBJECTIVE(S):
1. Discuss the various stakeholders who can benefit.
2. Describe the reports Idaho is using.
3. Provide a high level description of the technical implementation.

METHOD(S):
Oral presentation with PowerPoint graphics. Handouts of report samples.

RESULT(S):
Stakeholders appreciate "no effort" updates.
Administrators benefit from fewer requests for information.

CONCLUSIONS(S):
Key registry information summarized, and delivered to a target audience in an automated fashion, adds value to the immunization registry.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify registry information that is suitable for automated delivery.
2. Identify stakeholder groups and determine what information is appropriate for each group.
3. Become aware of technology useful in providing automated feedback.
