Using Focus Group Results to Develop Infant Immunization Promotion Materials for Hispanic Mothers

BACKGROUND:
Each year, the National Immunization Program at CDC conducts a media campaign during National Infant Immunization Week. This year, NIP launched a campaign focusing on Hispanic mothers and their infants. Formative research was conducted in three cities to determine messages and delivery mechanisms.

OBJECTIVE(S):
To effectively promote infant immunization to Hispanic Mothers 18-24 years of age

METHOD(S):
Focus groups were conducted in three cities among Hispanic Mothers age 18 to 24 and with providers who work with this audience. A total of 3 groups was conducted in each city.
