C2: Vaccine Safety — Basic Course on Clinical, Programatic Aspects to Controversies

This session will provide a comprehensive course on vaccine safety. Join us for an interesting and informative presentation and bring your vaccine safety questions. The course will cover practical information for health care providers and public health workers. Specific topics that will be discussed include: vaccine administration and management issues including contraindications and precautions; federal vaccine licensure and safety surveillance activities; current vaccine safety topics in the news; vaccine risk communication principles and their application and vaccine safety resources. A question and answer session will also be included.
Learning Objectives: After attending this workshop, participants should be able to describe specific vaccine safety activities for identifying, reporting and communicating about vaccine risks.
