BACKGROUND:
Ten years of hands-on experience at with working faith-based flu clinics. How to start, when to schedule and how to execute faith-based flu clinics in any community.
OBJECTIVE:
To educate, share, enlighted about meeting groups of adults in their own setting, at church. Gains awareness, comfort and ease in getting adults immunized in a different but convenient setting.
METHOD:
Each year Medicare flu shot data is gathered by contractors up to March 31st of the October through December flu immunization period. This data is compiled and sorted by age, ethnicity, and location across the nation.
RESULT:
The results of this data educates and provides awareness about the percentage of the total Medicare population immunized during the flu season. This data is used to establish the percentage gained for the Department of Health Human Services to signficantly reduce disparities among less immunized populations by 2010.
CONCLUSION:
I know that this expert information will enhance the awareness of how to best work within faith-based communities which is currently not a common place to educate about health but it should be.

Attendees will learn the best practices for approaching and working with faith-based communities for years.
