Grand Hall area

Background:
After numerous yearly flu clinics, decided to include United States Military Components to assist in our weak areas which included personnel and communication.

Setting:
The exercise was conducted at a Church campus, approximately 6 acres big to have a mass vaccination of the flu vaccine and use it as a mock pandemic exercise. The oprational period was 8 hrs long.

Population:
The clinic serves a population of 25,000 residents of the Town of Sandwich

Project Description:
The workshop will demonstrate the need for inter-agency cooperation when it comes to planning and executing emergency communication planning. . “Operation CAMIO” is a joint civilian military exercise (Civilian and Military Immunization Operation) involving the 267th Combat Communications Squadron and local public safety agencies during a flu clinic which was a mock pandemic exercise. The course describes the need for inter-agency planning for communication issues and how the military and civilian command staff would fit into a unified command.

Results/Lessons Learned:
Learned that military and civilian departments could mesh well together to achieve a common goal and learn about the Incident Command System and how each other fits in a command structure and what roles each could play in a real pandemic.
