Implementation and maintenance of an Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) system is a complex and difficult operation. Jurisdictions beginning this challenging implementation as well as those wishing to improve their current processes can benefit and learn from the experiences of jurisdictions that have successfully achieved a high-level, production-status ELR system.
Panel members will represent a variety of jurisdictions with advanced-stage ELR systems. The panelists will review the history of their ELR system design and implementation, discussing both technical and programmatic aspects of ELR issues including partner recruitment; message translation, routing, tracking, and acknowledgment; coding standards; secure file transmission; and data and process quality control. Audience members will be encouraged to discuss their specific technical and programmatic challenges with the panel members.
