This panel provides an overview of the key accomplishments of the CSTE and CDC Joint ELR Task Force. Work groups will share key accomplishments that assist with ELR implementation. This session will also direct interested parties to more detailed sessions during the conference that discuss tools, serviices and guidelines for implementing ELR.
This panel provides an overview of the CSTE/ CDC Joint ELR Task Force.  This task force was put into effect based on a recommendation of a 2009 position statement from CSTE.  The task force includes five workgroups: Meaningful U se, Standards, Legal Considerations, Resource and Capacity, and LIS Vendors and Large Labs.  The current state of ELR will be described and will cover the implications of meaningful use as a catalyst for accelerating adoption of ELR. The five workgroups under the task force will share key accomplishments that span from standards and vocabulary, to proposed guidelines for LIS vendors and large labs, resources and process steps for implementing ELR, and legal considerations that affect policy.  State experiences in ELR adoption will be shared and will include a synthesis of guidelines and lessons learned for ELR implementation & maintenance.  This session will point to more detailed sessions during the conference that discuss tools and guidelines for ELR implementation.
