The objective of this presentation is to give the audience useable information regarding the creation and administration of a data integration environment, and eventually an Integration Competency Center , that enables the PHIN objectives. The key components in Florida ’s Integration Success will be discussed side-by-side with the components we suggest for other organizations. This comparison holds immense value as it will uncover the many solution options available and provide an honest assessment and recommendation of an Integration Roadmap for Success.
The presentation will discuss integration and messaging software and provide a technical view of strengths and weaknesses and alternatives, based on what is being used inFlorida to support Electronic Laboratory Reporting, Public Health Laboratory Interoperability Project, Florida ’s Immunization Registry (SHOTS) and other PHIN related activities. Along with the recommended IT environment and toolsets, we will discuss the best practices of their use as they relate to both Information Technology and Public Health.
Finally, this presentation will suggest a guide to implementing your own integration competency center including what skill sets to look for, how long to expect it to take, and associated costs.
