THE FLU is a fictitious, yet very plausible, representation of the way State/Local, Federal and Military Health officials might collaborate in the event of a pandemic.  Interestingly, Oracle created "THE FLU" over the course of the past 18 months, only to see it actually become a reality over the past couple of weeks with the Swine Flu epidemic.  The overall theme we had in mind when creating "THE FLU" was:  Prepare, Plan, Be Informed and Discover New Ways of Seeing Information
We begin the multimedia presentation with a brief overview of what the audience is about to see.  We then show them a professionally created video of about eight minutes that builds the scenario of Dr. Grant Turner, the newest addition to the Governor of Indiana's Healthcare Team and him delivering news that there are reports of a somewhat mysterious illness within their jurisdiction that needs to be further investigated.  The plot is set and thickens within the story presented in the movie and we break from the DVD to transition to a 20 minute PowerPoint presentation that retells the story and discusses in some detail each of the technologies used by the individuals in the story.  This is also a time when the audience may ask questions about what they've seen and what is being discussed.  Once this more in depth discussion is done and questions from the audience are answered, we return to see the climactic ending of our film, which of course has a happy ending.
We believe strongly that this presentation will be enlightening, educational and entertaining.  Our goal is to have it also be thought provoking and to allow the audience to leave motivated to discover new ways of seeing information.
