Leveraging Information Technology for Pandemic Preparedness
Security, mobility and information sharing have become increasingly vital for health care organizations as global and cross-agency communication and real-time information sharing become a greater part of every day operations. This session will summarize how multiple disparate systems were pulled together in a mid-tier data center born out of the disasters of 9/11 to create a consolidated environment with high availability. You will hear how one solutions maintains and operates the data center and its mission critical systems like cdc.gov, Biosense and others to ensure that constant real time information is available at all times to the public. This presentation will validate how these systems have been leveraged to support information accessibility to the public during disasters, outbreaks and pandemics like the Swine flu where its imperative for the global public to stay abreast of the latest most reliable information. We will also address next generation technologies like SOA and Open Source and how they can be incorporated to further drive, enhance and optimize the agility, interoperability and efficiency needed to maintain the constant push and pull of information for sound decision making.
