The day has come when government joins public industry in real time communication. Moving beyond just a static Web page, government entities are working to engage the public in a more personal and open platform. Web 2.0 technologies, specifically, are allowing for public interactions that were impossible just a few years ago.
Today you can find blogs on a multitude of topics by various sources. They allow for rapid dissemination of information as well as public comment on pubic health issues facing an organization.
Setting up a blog and adding your first post is a very simple task, but what are the issues that you need to be aware of?  This session will describe in detail how to develop, deploy, and maintain a public access blog in the government environment.  Items covered will include setting up the software, developing clearance workflows, managing public comments and dealing with spam.
