Revisions are grounded in existing guidelines and draw from the same basic strategies and logic as those presented previously. Reflecting integration, the integrated guidelines use common strategic logic for partner services, with different tactics for different STDs identified on the basis of research and program experience. Changes include increased emphasis on (a) public health involvement in partner notification, (b) linkage to care, (c) active identification of candidates for partner notification, (d) quality assurance and evaluation standards, (e) collaboration with entities outside health departments and (f) innovations to expand access to partner services.
