Promising Practices: Integrating STD and HIV Partner Services Guidelines

Background/Purpose: Currently, two CDC documents provide guidance for HIV and STD partner services (PS). Inconsistencies between the two documents have led to confusion in the field.

Objectives of Symposium: 1. Provide an overview of new, integrated CDC STD/HIV PS guidelines 2. Provide information about program challenges related to implementing the new guidelines.

Implications for Programs, Policy, and/or Research: Integrated PS recommendations for HIV and STD PS programs will lead to improved services for patients and their partners. Information presented will assist PS program managers in applying the new guidelines.
