Since the mid 1990s, OPA/OFP has funded organizations to develop effective approaches for the provision of reproductive health services to males. Earlier work helped to identify perceptions and barriers to access among males and provided evidence to the unmet demand among males for RH services and clarified barriers to access. Recent work has incorporated these findings into the development of service delivery models ranging from curriculum-based health STD prevention education to those exploring innovative strategies for STD testing and screening. This work has resulted in the identification of several strategies that have great promise in reaching and serving males.
