Centennial I/II
This session looks at innovative ways in which health communicators can reach underserved populations. ZeroDivide, a nonprofit consulting organization, will cover evidence-based approaches and best practices for the design and implementation of text messaging interventions that enable underserved populations to manage their health and wellness. Health Power for Minorities, a leading source of health information for minorities worldwide, will look at principles that form the base for developing a minority health website/digital minority health communication network. And, the CDC’s Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention will provide information about communications aimed at reaching segmented populations to increase awareness around relevant public health issues during health observances, such as American Heart Month.
