Centennial I/II
The more mobile we become, the more we expect valuable information to find and engage us when and where we need it—on our computers, tablets and smart phones; on web sites, social media and apps. As content providers, it is increasingly important that we find efficient ways to manage information across multiple digital channels and that we optimize our content for display on multiple devices.
CDC, FDA, and NIH are actively working to implement a "Starship Enterprise"—a digital content-sharing platform that allows us to maintain content, data, and multimedia in one location and at the same time, distribute it through to many channels. Our goals are to foster a collaborative community that shares credible science-based content, reduces development and maintenance costs of digital assets for ourselves and our partners, and positively impacts the health of our nation by engaging people where they already go for information.
Through our digital sharing platform, partners can access and customize our web content, images, video, and data to complement their local information. When we update the source materials, those updates will also be reflected instantly in our partners’ sites and apps, enabling everyone to work more efficiently and freeing our content to go where our audiences will most easily find it.
