C1 Did You GYT? Development, Implementation and Evaluation of a National STD Testing Campaign

Background/Purpose: To bring attention to and address the growing STD epidemic among youth, leading public- and private-sector agencies came together to create “GYT” (Get Yourself Tested), the first annual, month-long national STD awareness & testing effort. GYT is part of a broader It's Your (Sex) Life campaign, to support young people in making responsible decisions about their sexual health. GYT included on-air, online and SMS promotions, informational resources and community outreach.

Objectives of Symposium:This symposium will discuss key components of program development, implementation and evaluation, highlighting the partnership process from public- and private-sector perspectives.

Implications for Programs, Policy, and/or Research: Future involvement from STD programs and partners will be discussed.
