Background/Purpose:

The GYT: Get Yourself Tested campaign was initiated in April 2009.  The campaign comprises on-air, online, and on-the-ground events that encourage young people to be tested for STDs.

Objectives of Symposium:

To demonstrate the effectiveness of various components of the GYT campaign and the program-science cycle that maximizes campaign impact.

Implications for Programs, Policy, and Research:

The campaign is an example of multi-media programs that are initiated in the field, provide data and research opportunities to scientists and evaluators, and in turn are improved by scientific analyses and their implications.  The program-science cycle is clearly visible across the years of this successful campaign.
